Radio station runs series on prostitution
NEWSTALK 106 is airing a series of in-depth interviews with escorts and prostitutes who are working in cities and towns around Ireland.
One student, Sarah (not her real name), contacted the show after the first interview aired.
"I think if people could put themselves in the escort's shoes for the day they'd see a different side," she said. "That said, I have been very fortunate."
Sarah said she had thought of earning money in various ways, but escorting gave her flexibility around her studies.
When asked about the distinction between escort and prostitute, Sarah said that an escort can "say no if they want to, unlike a street prostitute".
