Radiant Sinead O’Connor leaves hubby at home
BACK home from her whirlwind wedding in Las Vegas, Sinead O'Connor was out in Dublin last night -- without her new husband by her side.
A world away from the fanfare of the last few days the casually dressed star refused to talk about her pink wedding or her brief honeymoon.
The 'Nothing Compares 2 U' singer ate a plate of chips at the Ruby Dock restaurant in Temple Bar with friends and employees of Amnesty International, who were celebrating the charity's 50th anniversary.
She told those present at the event that she didn't want to answer any questions about the wedding or her new husband, Barry Herridge.
And she refused to show off her wedding ring at the request of waiting photographers.
"I don't want to answer any questions about it, I have to go inside and sing," said the singer and musician, who arrived alone in a taxi, before retreating indoors.
It was a far cry from last week when the beaming 45- year-old Dubliner gushed about her husband at Dublin Airport before jetting off to get married for the fourth time.
At the time Sinead said: "Myself and Barry decided to get married in Las Vegas -- because we wanted to have a proper rock 'n' roll wedding.
"I've been married before, but I've never had my dream wedding in Vegas. I wanted to do it there because it's casual, quick, not religious and, most of all, very romantic."
The wedding to Mr Herridge is the fairytale ending to the singer's search for love, which she launched last summer across Twitter and on The Late Late Show.
Inundated with thousands of replies, Sinead selected just one man to go on a date with -- her future husband.
"Barry sent me this wonderful email, which just took my heart away. It had to be him," said the mother of four.
Originally from Donaghmede but now living in Raheny in Dublin, Mr Herridge was lying low last night but Sinead has promised a full account of their colourful few days to be posted on her blog today.
