Putting best foot forward for cancer

WALKERS across the country are being urged to put their best foot forward to raise funds for breast cancer.

Already two Pink Ribbon Walks have been planned -- one in Killaloe, Co Clare, tomorrow; and one in Kells, Co Meath, on September 11.

Organisers hope that each county in the country will eventually hold its own sponsored walk to raise funds for Action Breast Cancer.

Penny McGowan, chairwoman of Pink Ribbon Walk, said the fundraising target for 2010 was €200,000.

More than 500 people are expected to take part in tomorrow's 10km walk, raising a minimum of €100 each.
