Put your feet up and enjoy a cuppa . . . after big swim

THERE'S nothing to beat a cuppa in the most visited lake in our national parks.

Yesterday, swimmers John Fitzgerald and Nancy Poulain took a dip in Glendalough, Co Wicklow, to headline a Bewley's-sponsored inaugural Open Water Swim challenge at the popular tourist spot.

Swimmers are being invited to take part in the event on Saturday, September 8, when two open-water challenges will be on offer -- a 750-metre open-water swim and a longer 1,500-metre race.

The closing date for entries is midnight on September 6 and participants can register at www.openwaterswimmer.ie.
