Property prices rise in Dublin
PROPERTY prices rose in April across the country and in Dublin home values were proving to be stronger.
Residential property prices rose by 0.8pc nationally in April from March but fell by 1.2pc compared with a year ago.
This annualised fall compares with an annual rate of decline of 3pc in February and a decline of 16.4pc recorded in the 12 months to April 2012, the Central Statistics Office said.
In Dublin, residential property prices grew by 0.2pc in April, but were 1pc higher than a year ago.
Dublin house prices were unchanged in the month but were 1.3pc higher compared with a year earlier.
Since the crash kicked in six years ago the overall market value has been halved while in Dublin house prices are down on average 55%.
Last month was the first time since November that the overall residential property market saw an increase.
