Probe into to fatal collision involving Garda car

A pedestrian has died after he being hit by a Garda car.

The Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission is investigating the fatal road traffic accident in Co Louth.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was killed in the collision which happened at about 1.20am outside Bellurgan on the Dundalk /Carlingford Road.

A spokeswoman for GSOC said a team of investigators is at scene and the road is likely to remain closed for at least another hour.

Witnesses are asked to call 1890-600-800.
