President Higgins visit highlights
President Higgins begins his state visit of England today. Here are some of the highlights
Today
* President departs for UK from Baldonnel airport.
Tuesday
* Formal welcome to Windsor Castle.
* At Westminster Abbey, President will lay a wreath at grave of 'Unknown Warrior'.
* President will then address both Houses of Parliament.
State Banquet at Windsor Castle.
Wednesday
* President will lunch at 10 Downing Street before meeting Nick Clegg, the deputy prime minister.
* That night, he will attend a banquet hosted by Lord Mayor of London Fiona Woolf.
Thursday
* President and Mrs Higgins will visit Park House Stables, before attending the Ceiliuradh in the Royal Albert Hall that night.
Friday
* President will go to the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon before going to Coventry Cathedral.
* From there, he will return home to military honours at Baldonnel.
