THE search for a missing 60-foot-high inflatable snowman has taken a new twist after internet pranksters posted photos of "Snowy" at iconic landmarks around the world.

The missing snowman was the centrepiece of Victorian-themed Christmas decorations adorning Fitzwilliam Square in Wicklow town as part of its Victorian Christmas Festival until it vanished on Sunday night.

A "Help Find Snowy" page has been set up on Facebook by organisers of the festival and contributors have posted "photos" of Snowy around the world, including on the Great Wall of China, atop the Eiffel Tower, and even on the moon.

Anyone who knows the location of Snowy is urged to contact the Wicklow Gaol or gardai.
