Winnie's portrait is one of 25 shortlisted for the Hennessy Portrait Prize and is currently on display in the National Gallery.

Now in its fourth year, the competition is open to artists who are either resident in Ireland or Irish citizens living abroad.

Nicholas Benedict Robinson, below right, also made the shortlist with a painting of his parents Maeve and Keith in their kitchen, while, top right, artist Zane Sutra stands beside her portrait.

The winning artist receives a prize of €15,000 and a commission worth €5,000 to produce a new work for inclusion in the National Portrait Collection. The winner of the 2017 Portrait Prize will be announced next Tuesday.
