The Port Tunnel has reopened again to traffic after an overturned truck in the north bore shut it down for most of the morning.

Both lanes in the tunnel had been closed earlier this morning shortly before 9am following accident.

Emergency services had been using the south bore of the tunnel to gain access to north bore where a packed truck had overturned and block traffic.

The Dublin Fire Bridge had earlier tweeted that they are attending a “minor incident in the north bore of the Port Tunnel”.

No injuries have been reported from this morning's accident.

AARoadwatch have been warning drivers to expect delays throughout the day.

"Motorists should expect increased traffic in city centre.

"We're asking those on the road to take this in to account and be mindful of pedestrians and cyclists," they said.

Dublin city's HGV ban has been reinstated following a temporary lifting following the Port Tunnel's closure.
