Winners will be known quickly
The new Labour Party leader will be known within minutes of the counting of votes getting under way.
As of last night, 2,641 votes had arrived in to the returning officers. But a final flurry is expected today ahead of the deadline of 12 noon.
The counting of votes begins at 12.30pm in the Mansion House in Dublin city centre.
The party is going to allow tallies to be taken. As a result, the winners of the leader and deputy leader contests will be apparent quite quickly.
After 3pm, the results of the leadership election will be officially announced.
