Watch: Bankers behind tracker scandal are a 'shower of b***ards' - Aodhán Ó Ríordáin's impassioned speech in the Seanad
Bankers who caused the tracker mortgage scandal were described as a "shower of b****rds" by Labour’s Aodhán Ó Ríordáin in the Seanad on Thursday.
At least 20,000 customers are believed to have been wrongly denied a tracker mortgage in that they paid thousands of euro more in interest than they should have.
The banks involved have this week outlines a time line for paying compensation to the affected customers.

Mr Ó Ríordáin said that young people in disadvantaged communities could get “on the wrong side of the law” for minor incidents.
“Everything is thrown at that young person, basically because he or she is poor. But this shower of b***ards are getting away with murder, year in year out, in this democracy.
“We are also looking at people who have lost their homes and still the Government will say we can give the banks more time.".
Cathaoirleach Denis O’Donovan said the adjective used by Mr Ó Ríordáin was inappropriate.
Senator James Reilly (FG) said that he shared Mr Ó Ríordáin’s views on the banks, but did not agree with the term used to describe the bankers.
