Independent TD Mick Wallace has described the Dáil as “crazy” and “dysfunctional” and said the Government will fall within months.

Mr Wallace said on Wednesday that Fianna Fáil is “running the country now”, adding that Micheál Martin’s party is getting “all the credit” while Fine Gael is getting “all the grief”.

The Wexford  TD told broadcaster Alan Corcoran on South East radio that Fine Gael is suffering hugely as a result of the confidence and supply agreement with Fianna Fáil.

“Fine Gael have signed their death warrant with this arrangement,” Mr Wallace said.

“I would be shocked if this government is still standing this time next year. If I was putting betting money on it, I do not see this government lasting beyond next May, if it even gets to that .It’s a bit dysfunctional at the moment. The place s  a bit crazy up there. There is nothing really being done.

And the truth be told, Fine Gael is actually running the country right now .Fianna Fáil can do what they like. Fine Gael can do nothing without their support.”

Mr Wallace criticised Independent Alliance minister John Halligan over his decision to enter Government.

“I don’t know why he believed they would deliver everything he would like,” he said.

He also labelled Communications Minister Denis Naughten and Children’s Minister Katherine Zappone as “Fine Gaelers”.

Mr Wallace said all three ministers voted against a previous motion on NAMA despite, he says, being told about allegations surrounding Project Eagle.
