Mary's immaculate for her charity work
In fairness to Fine Gael's Mary Mitchell O'Connor, she's game to try her hand at anything for charity. Over the next few weeks she'll be assistant to a celebrity chef, one half of a tango duo and a catwalk model.
For starters, there is a First 1,000 Days event on November 11 to raise awareness of childhood obesity, when Mary will chop veggies and the like for telly chef Neven Maguire at an evening cookery demonstration in the Marker Hotel.
The Dun Laoghaire deputy is also taking part in a Strictly Against Breast Cancer show (she's pictured at the launch) in the Convention Centre on December 7 when she'll dance a tango with dashing oncologist Prof Arnie Hill.
And she is also one of the politicians who'll be strutting the catwalk at the Oireachtas Fashion Show in the Shelbourne Hotel on November 12 in aid of Motor Neurone Disease research.
