FINE Gael is holding its ground and is still the most popular political party in the country, according to a new opinion poll.

Support for Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s party remains unchanged at 25pc, three points ahead of its nearest rival Sinn Fein, which is up one point to 21pc.

The poll is bad news for Fine Gael’s Coalition partner Labour as its support has slumped two points to 7pc, while Fianna Fail dropped a point to 18pc.

Support for Independents increased two points and is now at 30pc, according to the Sunday Business Post/Red C poll.
