Fianna Fail objects to plans to give TDs and senators a week off
Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil are on a collision course of plans to give TDs and senators a week off.
The Dail is due to rise on Thursday for the mid-term break.
But at the Fianna Fáil front bench meeting this morning , Fianna Fáil leader Micheal Martin strongly objected to the move.
He told TDs and senators that he is not satisfied with the level of progress being made in relation to the passing of bills.
He said the lack of bills being passed is "not a laughing matter."
The issue is due to come to a head in the Dail today.
