Aine Collins...A life in brief
BORN Cork, September 9, 1969.
FAMILY The youngest of six children; her father Tim was heavily involved with the local Fine Gael branch – "Sadly he passed away in 2006 so he wasn't there to see me elected, I know he would have been very proud." Aine has two daughters, Ciara (23) and Lily (5), and a son Thomas (6). She is married to Paul Cassidy, who works in financial services in Cork.
EDUCATION Went to Rathcoole NS and then Community Secondary School in Millstreet, Co Cork. Spent a year studying engineering at Cork Institute of Technology. Took a business and finance course in North East London Polytechnic before returning home to become a chartered accountant in 1995.
POLITICAL BREAKTHROUGH Elected to represent the Cork North West constituency in the 2011 General Election.
