Senators and TDs have printed more than 125,000 calendars and Christmas cards at a cost of just under €4,000.

Only 34 politicians in Leinster House used the Oireachtas printing service to print cards and calendars for constituents this year.

Fianna Fáil TD Niall Collins had the largest print order with 31,500 calendars at a cost of €835.42.

This was followed by junior minister Patrick O'Donovan who ordered 13,000 calenders at €379.56. Cork South West TD Margaret Murphy O'Mahony printed 12,000 calenders.

Among senior ministers, Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan, Rural Affairs Minister Michael Ring and Culture Minister Josepha Madigan were the only ones who used the printing service this year.

Kerry TD Michael Healy-Rae also used the service, but his calendars will test his constituents as they are missing certain days.

He joked that his calendars were unpredictable, "like life itself", when the mistakes were highlighted this week.
