The partner of a Wexford man who has been missing for nearly two weeks is appealing to the public to help take part in searches for the father of two.

Patrick Fanning (34), who is known as PJ, has been missing since 5am on Sunday February 24, when he was seen leaving Jim McGee's pub in Wexford town.

His partner Melissa Furlong - who is expecting a baby in August - discovered his Audi A4 in the car park at the Ferrycarrig Hotel, with the keys still in the ignition, two days later.

Land and sea searches have so far proved unsuccessful, and Ms Furlong is urging members of the public to help find Mr Fanning.

Another search has been organised to take place this morning.

"We are arranging to meet at the old Oak Tavern by the Ferrycarrig Hotel at around 9.30am," Ms Furlong said.

"We don't want to leave any stone unturned.

"PJ has two little kids - a 14-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl - and the kids are wondering where he is and everyone is very distressed.

"We're actually expecting a baby in August."

Ms Furlong said Mr Fanning was wearing blue denim jeans, blue Adidas runners with white stripes, a light blue short-sleeved shirt and a black jacket on the night he disappeared.

Mr Fanning is 6ft, has blue-green eyes and short brown hair.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who has seen Mr Fanning, or who can assist in locating him, to contact Wexford garda station on 053 916 5200.
