AN unemployed man, who transformed himself into a life-size job advert, has received numerous offers of work.

For weeks Brendan Coleman has been walking up and down Newland's Cross in West Dublin with a placard.

"To all employers, prove to me you don't age discriminate, employ me!" his placard reads.

Brendan -- who is in his fifties -- began brandishing his placard in the hope of securing a new sales job. And thanks to passers-by who posted photographs on social networks, his efforts have now gone viral.

"There have been over 7,000 likes so far on Facebook and there have been a lot of people on asking me to send them over my CV and I have also had quite a lot of straight job offers," Brendan told the Irish Independent

The Wexford man, who has 20 years' experience in sales, lost his job last year.

"I was a sales rep throughout the entire Leinster area for many years and this is the first time I have ever found myself unemployed. I had to do something and I had to come up with an idea that would capture peoples' imaginations," he said.
