Pigs, pints and rugby No chance of a bore

THERE might not be any silverware for Munster rugby fans to celebrate this year, but all can look forward to the world's biggest-ever tag rugby event in Limerick this summer.

The highly successful Pig 'n' Porter festival is being hosted by Old Crescent Rugby Club in association with the Irish Tag Rugby Association (ITRA) from July 16 to 18.

More than 120 teams comprised of men and women of all ages and skill levels from across Ireland and Britain will compete in the annual event.

Pictured at the launch yesterday at Old Crescent Rugby Club were (l-r) comedian Jon Kenny, rugby star Peter Clohessy, Eoghan Prendergast, Shannon Development Limerick Division manager -- and a pot-bellied pig.

Organiser Padraic O'Connor said all connected with the Pig 'n' Porter festival were delighted it has grown over the last nine years to become the largest tag rugby event in the world.
