Phoenix park site with planning permission proposed for new National Children’s Hospital reporters

AN EIGHT acre site at the Phoenix park racecourse in Dublin has been proposed as a location for the new National Children’s Hospital.

Dublin-based property development company Flynn and O’Flaherty said that they could build the planned hospital on the site for €210m cheaper than the Mater site.

The site has full planning permission for a nine story development and the cost of construction, before 2016, would be €440m.

Sites at St James’s Hospital, a Greenfield location at Dublin Airport and another one near the Red Cow roundabout have also been proposed for the children’s hospital location.
