Phil Hogan: No u-turn on ghost estate homeowners paying property tax

ENVIRONMENT Minister Phil Hogan says there will be no u-turn on the number of ghost estates to be exempted from the property tax.

Mr Hogan also pointed the finger at his colleague, Labour Party junior minister Jan O’Sullivan, for drawing up the list of estates to be exempted.

The Environment Minister came under fire from Labour ministers and TDs after the number of ghost estate exemptions for the property tax was well down on those for the controversial €100 household charge.

But Mr Hogan told RTE’s News At One that Ms O’Sullivan, the Minister for Housing, actually drew up the list
