Pensioner dies in car crash in Cork
A MAN in his 70s has been killed following a car crash in Cork this morning.
Gardai are investigating the two vehicle collision that occurred on the N25 East bound at Harpers Island between the Little Island and the Cobh Junctions at approximately 11.30am
“A male in his 70’s was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a second car,” a garda spokesman said.
“He was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the second car was taken to Cork University Hospital with injuries described as not life threatening. Both were the sole occupants of the cars.”
The N25 East bound is currently closed between the Little Island and Cobh Junctions and East bound traffic is asked to use the old road to Glounthaune.
