Pedestrian (late 20s) dies after being struck by lorry on M50

A man in his late 20s has died after being struck by an articulated lorry on the M50 during rush hour.

The incident happened near Junction 4 northbound at Ballymun at around 5:30pm.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been brought to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.

A post mortem is to be arranged and no other injuries have been reported.

The M50 Northbound remains closed at junction 4, Ballymun to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.
