Pedestrian killed when hit by a mini-bus in Co Louth

A pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a mini-bus.





The road accident happened as the man walked along the road at The Liberties in Carlingford, Co Louth, at 2.45am.



The 27-year-old victim died at the scene and removed to the Louth Hospital for a post-mortem examination.



Several passengers were on the bus at the time, but were not injured.



Gardai have appealed for any passengers who left the scene after the crash to come forward as witnesses.



A Garda spokeswoman warned the road remains closed for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
