Pedestrian killed in collision with bus

A pedestrian was killed today after being struck by a bus.

The 22-year-old man was knocked down about one mile from Enniscorthy, Co Wexford on the Gorey road.

The accident happened at about 2.05am.

A Garda spokesman said there were 20 passengers on the bus at the time and none were injured.

In a separate incident, a 27-year-old man was killed in a crash in Mayo.

The man was driving an SUV with a trailer which crashed on a minor road at Shangort, Partry, near Castlebar.

The accident happened at 5.45am and no other vehicle was involved.
