Pedestrian in his 30s killed in road crash

A PEDESTRIAN has been killed after he was struck by a car last night.

Gardaí are investigating the fatal road traffic collision on the N62 at Clongur, Thurles, Co. Tipperary which occurred at 9.40pm.

The pedestrian, a man in his late 30s, was fatally injured in the collision.

The driver of the car was not injured. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body taken to Clonmel Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.

The road at the scene remains closed to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
