Peaches' cousins “devastated” by her sudden death

QPEACHES Geldof's Irish cousins say they are "devastated" by her sudden death.

The broadcaster and writer frequently spoke about her Dublin family, including her grandfather Bob Snr who died in 2010.

In a statement to the Irish Independent her cousins described their shock that Peaches (25) passed away leaving behind two babies.

"We are all in shock. We are devastated for Tom (Cohen) and family, Bob and the girls; in fact for all the family. We hope the media will let them grieve in peace," they said.

The statement was signed by Paul, Jaqui, Jenny and Denise Geldof.

Michael D Higgins spoke of the "immense loss" the Boomtown Rats singer must be feeling. The President was due to meet with Geldof during his state visit to Britain. President Higgins yesterday described Peaches' death as "untimely", and that it was an "immense loss" for those who were closest to her.
