It may not be the most conventional entertainment for a Sunday afternoon, but the village of Collon, Co Louth, was home to the annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-in yesterday.
The event provided a chance for Ireland's most prolific pumpkin growers to see who can produce the biggest pumpkin in Ireland.
The winning pumpkin, grown by Micheál Byrne from Togher, Co Louth, weighed in at an enormous 529kg. He also took second place with a 469kg entry.
Patrick Sullivan, who is involved with organising the event and has been growing pumpkins for 15 years, finished third with an entry of 416kg.
The world record for the heaviest pumpkin is held by Ben Meier, a Swiss gardener, who grew a 951kg pumpkin in 2014.
Mr Sullivan described the event as "a real family day".
