Paralympic star Jason marries
PARALYMPIC hero Jason Smyth finished the year with yet more gold – this time when exchanging rings with his new bride.
A glittering wedding ceremony in his partner's native Utah in the US ended a phenomenal year for the 25-year-old.
Mr Smyth and Elise Jordan (25) said 'I do' at Saturday's ceremony in Salt Lake Temple months after he cemented his place as the finest Paralympian sprinter of all time.
Friends and family flew out from Mr Smyth's home town of Eglinton, Co Derry, for the ceremony at the Mormon church, where the couple first met.
Meanwhile, Republic of Ireland and Sunderland footballer James McLean got engaged to partner Erin Connor just before Christmas.
