Two men were arrested after gardai recovered drugs worth more than 25,000 euro in Dublin.

Detectives stopped a car on Rathgar Road, in the south of the city, on Monday and found a quantity of cannabis herb.

The two men travelling in the car, both in their 20s, were detained at the scene and taken to Terenure Garda station.

A full search of the vehicle uncovered more cannabis while follow up raids at two properties in the city also turned up ecstasy, cocaine and other drug paraphernalia.

The drugs have been sent for forensic analysis.

Both men were questioned under section four of the Criminal Justice Act and later released.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
