An imitation gun and cash were also seized by detectives investigating the hold-up in Main Street, Blanchardstown, west Dublin.

A man wielding a firearm entered a shop at around 11.40pm on Monday night and threatened staff before escaping with a sum of money.

In a further search at a house in Briarswood, Blanchardstown, at 2am, a woman was also arrested and an imitation firearm seized.
