Over 40,000 expected at VHI Women’s Mini Marathon

Sneakers and blister plasters at the ready. The VHI Women’s Mini Marathon will open for entries tomorrow.

Over 40,000 participants are expected to run, jog or mosey along the 10 K route through Dublin city centre on Monday June 1.

Athlete David Gillick and comedian Maeve Higgins are two of the VHI experts who will support participants along the way.

Former Irish sprinter Gillick will offer participants healthy dishes to keep them match fit in the run up to the race.

The food plans will be available in The Herald and on the newly launched Vhi WMM 2015 App. 

Since the mini marathon was first established in 1983, nearly 921,000 women have entered the event which helps to raise awareness for women’s health:

In 2014, close to €12 million was raised brining the overall monies raised to €192 million.  Women can enter be visiting

VHI took over the mini marathon as title sponsor from Flora last year.
