One woman killed, one critical after separate car crashes
A WOMAN was killed when the car she was driving hit a wall at Colemanstown, Menlough, Co Galway.
And another woman is in critical condition after a road accident on the main Waterford-New Ross road at 8pm last night.
The accident involved a car and a lorry but nobody else was injured.
The 38-year-old woman killed in Galway was not Irish, although it is believed she lived in the area. Gardai were last night trying to contact family members.
A businessman who died after being struck by a car on a rural road on Wednesday is believed to have been dropped at a bus stop a short time earlier.
Father-of-one Cyril Boyle (60), from Monaghan Road, Cootehill, Co Cavan, was knocked down on the N3 at Lavey, Stradone, at around 7.45pm. It's believed that he got off a bus a short time earlier but was fatally injured after being struck by a car while walking along the road.
The driver of the car was unharmed.
Mr Boyle's wife Joan, daughter Karen, and siblings were being comforted by relatives and neighbours.
