One rescued after fire breaks out in Dublin apartment

One person has been rescued after a fire broke out in a Dublin apartment overnight.

The alarm was raised by neighbours in Quilty House in Clare Hall north of the city.

Three units of Dublin Fire Brigade and an ambulance responded and one person was saved from the burning apartment by emergency crews.

They were taken to hospital suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.

A spokesperson for Dublin Fire Brigade said the fire broke out at around midnight in the ground floor apartment.
