One person left with severe injuries after serious collision in Dublin residential area

Gardaí are at the scene of a serious road collision in the capital which has left one person with severe injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Temple Manor, Walkinstown shortly after 9pm on Friday night.

It is understood that a single car was involved in the incident.

A garda spokeswoman confirmed that officers were at the scene of the serious road traffic collision in the area.

Locals also reported a man frantically knocking on house doors in a nearby estate saying; "they're chasing me, help".

"He was knocking on a number of houses in the area telling people he was being chased and to help him," one local told Independent.ie.

A spokesman for Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed that one fire engine, an emergency tender and an ambulance attended the scene.

The casualty, understood to be a male, has been brought to hospital with severe injuries.

The laneway where the vehicle was left, which leads into Greenhills Park, has been sealed off.

A number of homes nearby have also been sealed off, while several gardai remain at the scene.
