One man has died and two more were left fighting for their lives after a horror two-car smash in Co Fermanagh.

Two small children were among six people taken to hospital after the crash which happened on the Manoo Road in Kesh at about 1.30pm yesterday.

A PSNI spokesman said they were being treated for minor injuries, along with another man who was also involved in the collision.

He added: “Two men are described as being in a critical condition and a woman is described as being in a serious condition.”

All of the casualties were taken to the Erne Hospital in Enniskillen for treatment.

The collision occurred at the Ardess crossroads and the road remained closed to traffic until late last night as police carried out investigations at the scene.

The road was cordoned off but a red car could be seen sitting on the grass verge, while a dark grey car — with the roof cut away — was in a nearby field.
