ONE man has been injured after two houses in south Dublin were shot at in what gardai say are connected incidents.

The first shooting happened on Lissadel Rd in Drimnagh when a gunman fired a shotgun at a house there at 11pm, smashing the front window.

There were three people in the house at the time but nobody was injured.

Around five minutes later a house on Walkinstown Drive was targeted in a similar way with a shotgun, and a window was hit.

This time there were five people in the house and one man in his late 30s suffered injuries described as minor.

He was taken to St James’s Hospital fro treatment.

Gardai are investigating both shootings and are working on the theory that they are connected and were carried out by the same people.
