One lucky ticket-holder has scooped an incredible €11m in the country's latest Lotto success.

It is the biggest National Lottery jackpot in two years and the win marks the 15th highest single Lotto jackpot ever here.

The winning numbers were 10, 13, 23, 24, 25, 44 and bonus number 12.

The bumper payout soared after the pot rolled over since Wednesday, June 12, and the full jackpot reached €11,225,280.

There was also one winner of the Match 5 + bonus and they will pocket €134,412.

There were a further 12 Match 5 winners who each take home €2,982.

A spokesman for the National Lottery told the Irish Independent they will not know where in the country the ticket was purchased until later today.

"The message to everybody in the country is to check their tickets," he said.

"It's obviously going to be a massive surprise to whoever it is and we hope to hear from them soon."

The last Lotto jackpot was won by a lucky Galway man who scooped €4,051,610 on Saturday, June 8.

The highest ever win remains the Dan Morrissey syndicate from Carlow who collected a cool €18.9m in 2008, followed closely by an anonymous Waterford couple who won €16.7m in April 2010, and a Dubliner who also won €16m in the same year after purchasing a ticket in Donnybrook.

The latest winner is the 25th to claim in excess of €10m in the Irish lottery draw.

Earlier this year, the Daybreak shop in Lusk sold a Euromillions ticket worth a whopping €175m. This Friday's Euromillions jackpot is worth €95m.

So far in 2019, over €82.3m has been won in prizes in the Lotto game, which includes 13 new millionaires created in Lotto and Lotto Plus games.

The National Lottery has also confirmed that an incredible €18.8m will have been raised for good causes in the current Lotto jackpot roll-over series.
