The Rainbow Revolution is coming. Garda Elaine Byrne, of Naas garda station, officially launched this year's Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride Festival and Parade, which runs from tomorrow until June 30.

Gda Byrne is part of G-Force, the LGBT group in An Garda Síochána, which will march in the parade on Saturday, June 29, along with members of the GAA, the Gaelic Players Association and Macra na Feirme, among others.

Organisers said Taoiseach Leo Varadkar will also march in the parade, as will former President Mary McAleese who will accompany her son, Justin, and his husband Fionán Donohoe.

Dublin Pride manager Eddie McGuinness said: "This year's theme is Rainbow Revolutions marking 50 years since the Stonewall riots in New York."
