O'Brien site tracks rising cost of tribunal
The continually rising cost of the Moriarty Tribunal is being tracked by a website set up by businessman Denis O'Brien.
The costs clock is a new feature on the moriarty- tribunal.com website, which is critical of the cost of the inquiry.
The tribunal is costing €300,000 per month for the past three months, and the website runs updates by €10,000 per day.
Mr O'Brien is a central figure in the tribunal as it continues to probe the awarding of the licence by then Fine Gael minister Michael Lowry to Esat Digifone in the 1990s.
