Lotto multi-millionaire Kevin Geoghegan promised his former colleagues a secret "hooley" as he left his job of 27 years.

Despite scooping the €10.5 million Lotto jackpot with his partner Carol Loran (39), Kevin (46) told workers at Trend Technologies in Mullingar that he would do his best not to let the windfall change him.

"I had a few hard times, but I had good times as well and you all stood by me, you never let me down, you all helped me one way or another," said Kevin.

"I won't forget you for that. We will have a good auld hooley some night, somewhere, and no-one will know about it."

As a long serving staff member, Kevin would know all of the 130 staff, said Quality Manager Marie O'Toole.

"He's a good character," she added.
