Nuisance trees to be targeted
NUISANCE trees blocking sunlight and dropping sap on cars may soon be subject to tougher controls under proposed new laws.
The lack of controls on dense foliage protruding over a neighbour's wall can seriously affect people's lives, Dublin City Councillor Mary Freehill said.
Ms Freehill has brought the issue to the attention of the Seanad.
The councillor said the committee had examined the issue after several complaints from residents, but local authorities did not have sufficient powers to tackle the problem.
