An apartment block was evacuated in Finglas on Tuesday night after a fire broke out on the second floor.

Dublin Fire Brigade received an emergency call at 11pm about a blaze at the building in Premier Square.

Three fire engines, a fire tender, a turn-table truck,  and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene with a district fire officer.

Families were evacuated from the building as firecrews fought the blaze in the second floor apartment.

The fire was quickly brought under control.  The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
