A lucky expectant mother picked up her second prize of €30,000 in just a number of months.

Nikkol O’Reilly (24) from Mountnugent in Co Cavan won the top prize of €30,000 on a €3 scratch card.

“I think I’m the talk of the town at the moment. Nobody believes I could be this lucky,” she said.

“Every Friday, I go into town to pay some bills and I occasionally treat myself to a scratch card. After my last scratch card win, I was told not to buy the same scratch card again because there is no way Oldcastle could be lucky enough to have yet another win.

“It’s a different win for me this time around as I am now expecting a baby so my priorities have completely changed. I didn’t go mad with my last win and I only really treated myself to a nice car and a few bits here and there.

"I still have some money left over from it so I will be putting it all together and we’ll hopefully look at putting it towards a mortgage at some stage in the near future,” she added.

Meanwhile, the winner of a €4.4m Lotto Jackpot has made contact with the National Lottery.

The winning ticket was sold in Co Donegal at Daly’s Topaz on the Letterkenny Road in Lifford on Saturday January 13 and was a 'Quick Pick' ticket.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: "We can confirm that we have been contacted by the ticketholder and arrangements are being made for the claim to be made."
