'No flowers, scratch cards only please' - Family's unusual request at funeral
A Dublin family made an unusual request at the funeral of their loved one, by asking for scratch cards instead of flowers.
Julia Cranny, from Ballyroan Road, Rathfarnham, passed away last week peacefully at a nursing home in Navan.
Instead of flowers, the family asked for scratch cards and donations.
"She loved the lottery tickets on birthdays or Sundays and that is what she wanted," Julia's daughter Helen told the Meath Chronicle.
The family said that any donations or winnings from scratch cards would be donated to charity.
Julia is survived by her husband Noel, her daughter Helen, son Ken, daughter-in-law Sharon, grandson Luke, her sister Betty Keegan and her brother Sean Goldrick.
