The Cork nightclub where a teenage girl sustained spinal injuries after falling backwards from a flat roof proceeded to hold a second night of 'Beach Partying' despite the shocking accident.

Ciara O’Brien (18), who had recently completed her Leaving Certificate at Kinsale Community College, was attending a private party at The Moorings in Kinsale on Friday night, when the tragedy occurred.

She was rushed to Cork University Hospital for treatment and was later transferred to the National Spinal Injuries Unit at the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

The teenager was celebrating with staff in newly opened Moorings nightclub when she fell from a height at the side of the building.

Ciara had just secured a part time job at the venue and was out with other staff members during the themed ‘Beach Night’ when the accident occurred.

However, the Irish Examiner report that it was business as usual for The Moorings nightclub the following day, as they proceeded to hold the second of two beach-themed parties on Saturday night.

It is understood that during this event another young woman fell and broke her arm in the nightclub.

Despite repeated attempts, has been unable to contact The Moorings nightclub for comment.
