Youth arrested in connection with fatal stabbing of Reece Cullen (16)

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a juvenile in connection with the fatal stabbing of Reece Cullen.

Gardaí confirmed today that the youth was arrested in the Tallaght area at 7am.

The youth is currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Reece Cullen (16) died on January 5, 2017 after he was attacked near his Dublin home.

The talented boxer, of Bawnlea Crescent, Jobstown, was rushed to Tallaght Hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

A post-mortem examination determined that Reece suffered one stab wound to the heart when he was attacked.

Reece was discovered by a female neighbour bleeding to death at the foot of a staircase.
