Woman in her 90s struck on the head and robbed in broad daylight

A woman, in her 90s, was struck on the head with a stick, and had her handbag stolen.

The incident happened in the  Aston Gardens on the Upper Newtownards Road area of east Belfast.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident at around 4pm on Monday.


The attacker was described as being aged in his 60s, of thin build, around 5’6” tall and was wearing a flat cap and rain jacket, possibly grey in colour.
